Ian's design style is very much like his wardrobe: Simple and understated, yet gives off such coolness that you envy the fact that faded jeans and a fitted cotton t-shirt can look so, well, good. Time and time again, I hear from Ian's colleagues, friends, and family that he truly designs from his heart and soul, and this mantra has found him on a path leading towards many successful creations. Upon graduating from the Alberta College of Art + Design (Calgary, Canada), he became a co-finalist in the 2010 One Show College Competition, which acknowledged his strength in art direction and

clean print design. As one of those intern-turned-designers at Critical Mass Inc, Ian worked on major accounts including Anheuser-Bush, Harley-Davidson, and Clorox. He would be fooling you if he denied that all his free time is devoted to this passion of cultivating his skills in cinematography, advertising, photography, interactive design, motionography, and much more. Ian, at a social gathering armed with a Canon T21, means that in a matter of days you will be starring in his latest production. Design has taken Ian on a journey to the notorious city of New York, where he

successfully completed a one year scholarship at the prestigious School of Visual Arts. After school, he was awarded 3 One Show pencils (Gold, SIlver, and Bronze) at the 2011 Young Ones Competition, 1 Bronze Cube from the Art Directors Club Student Competition, and chosen as 1 of 20 global finalists of AKQA's Future Lions Competition . Through this entire process, even when faced with naysayers and haters, designing gives Ian the utmost satisfaction and certainty that he is doing what he loves - all the while looking effortlessly cool in his jeans and t-shirt.
